Cozy reading season is here! This weekend when Daylight Savings ends and it gets dark earlier at night, it is the perfect time to put a stack of books by the couch and curl up in the evenings with a book. My TBR (to be read) list is much longer this time of year than in the summer when I want to be out doing things!
If you enjoy Books for Kids, it would mean the world to me if you invited friends to subscribe and read with us. If you refer friends, you will receive some fun benefits!

Each Little Bird That Sings
Meet Comfort, a ten-year-old girl who has attended 247 funerals. But since her family runs the town funeral home, that’s not too surprising.
But life has some surprising things in store for Comfort and she has to navigate how to handle them.
An engaging story from Deborah Wiles about death and funerals.

The Midnight Children
Another excellent story from Dan Gemeinhart about seven mysterious kids who move into town in the middle of the night. Where did these kids come from and what happens when they are in danger? Equal parts mystery and a touching story about friendship and what it means to be “home.”
Note: There are a couple of scenes in the slaughterhouse that could be a bit much for young middle grade readers.

Note: There is some abuse in the story that could be a bit much for young middle grade readers.
